Almost every Christmas since 2009, I have been fortunate enough to join my family in exploring southern Africa. This sketchbook, featured in GCSE 1 (possibly the only reason I found it) accompanied me in 2014. At the time, I was experimenting with a looser style of line drawing, having been inspired by a workshop led by artist Ian Murphy in the weeks leading up to the holidays.
